Happy New Year!

Well I've no idea where December went, one minute it was there and then it was gone and now it's January........how did that happen?!
I managed to get all the Christmas orders done and posted in time for the big day and only one parcel went missing out of the 100's I posted so a very big well done and thank you to Royal Mail. The year before was a bit of a nightmare due to the weather and almost every day I had customers contact me to say that their parcel hadn't arrived. It's very frustrating but I also understand from a customer point of view how frustration that can be.
I did most of my Christmas shopping on line this year for the simple reason, I didn't have time to go to the shops. My daughter sat in the conservatory one day with the laptop while I was working and ordered loads of presents for me. Everything arrived really quickly and it's convinced me to do the same thing this year.
I ordered a dress for myself too from Boden as I thought I deserved a 'me' present for all my hard work :)
One evening my husband and I were packing orders in the conservatory and we heard a card being pushed through the letterbox. My husband went to the front door and found a courier card on the door mat. He opened the door to find a delivery driver walking up the drive. He called out to him, asking if he had a parcel for us. The driver said he had but the doorbell didn't work, it did, and my husband tried it to make sure. The driver then went to the rear of my daughters car and took a parcel( my lovely Boden dress) from underneath the rear wiper and handed it to my husband and walked off. When we looked at the card it had been ticked in the box' Left in a secure place' and he'd added 'left in the porch'. We don't have a porch unless of course that's a new name for a Ford KA! I'm so glad my parcels are small enough to fit through letter boxes and that I've never had to consider using Yodel!

Right, I realise I'm waffling and my main reason for being here today is to show you my new purchase.
We ordered a new dresser for the conservatory back in November and it arrived today...........at 6.55am! Oh here I go again, another delivery saga!
I had a call from M&S last week to say it would be here between 7-9 and not thinking I'd be the first on the delivery list I didn't see the urge to jump out of bed early, that was until I heard the lorry outside at silly o'clock!

My husband has been busy painting the wall for it to sit against. Do you like the colour? Yes it's that amazing fuschia pink peeping out at the top there. Isn't it just gorgeous? I can't believe he agreed to it!

I've wanted to collect Pip Studio china for ages and finally I have some, but I'm sure you'll agree there's not nearly enough!
Our plan this year is to have a shed/studio/log cabin built in the garden for me to work in and then have our house back to normal. I can't get away from work the way things are at the moment and I really want to be able to lock the door and walk away at the end of the day. I will keep you posted on that one but if any one out there know of a reliable company in the South East of England that make and erect those type of buildings, please let me know. We really want to avoid the cowboys!

On that note, I'd like to wish you all a very Happy New Year and thank you for taking the time to pop by.

  1. I had to laugh when you said about your M&S delivery, exactly the same thing happened to me except I was in the shower when they arrived and answered the door covered in bubbles and wrapped in a towel lol. But the delivery men never batted and eyelid and were very professional so well done M&S. I love your pink wall it's amazing you have a very understanding hubby.
Hope this new year brings you even more success in your business and look forward to hearing about your new work room.
    Big Hugs
