Grandma's spectacles?

There just haven't been enough hours in the day since the Not On The High Street spring gift guide came out a few weeks ago. I featured in there and these have kept me busy.

The thing I love about making them is the fact that they can be personalised. I've had some very interesting names and phrases to write on them.

My best seller is 'Grandma's' glasses but there are lots of variations. 'Nana' with one 'n', 'Nanna' with two 'n's, 'Granny', 'Grandpa', 'Gramps' 'Grumps' ......
There was a 'Nanny Chips'.........either she loves them or works in a chip shop!
This week I've made one that said, "Where's my bloody glasses?!'
Purple, cerise, salmon, blue, green, navy........you name it, I've made it

Someone's Grandma is a star............but do you want to know what my all time favourite is? Do you? Are you ready?
Well here it is!
I wish I had been in the room when her grandchild called them that!

Hope you all had a lovely Mothers Day.

Birthdays

I went shopping a couple of weeks ago and saw this BeaUtIFuL chandelier. I fell in love with it and have decided I need it once my bedroom has been redecorated....whenever that may be!I got a new app for my phone a while ago (Hipstamatic) and took this photo of my teddy that was bought for me by my parents for my 5th birthday. It was a long time ago, that's all I'm saying!
Talking of birthdays, it's my step daughters today, so I had a break from sewing to make her some cupcakes.

I hope you're having a nice day, birthday or not!

Daydream believer.

It's still really odd to be at home all day and to be able to do what I like (within reason) with my time. For the past 15 years, up until last November when I gave up the day job I'd worked in a Primary school. I'm sure those of you that have ever worked in a school will know that there's not time to think of anything other than what's going on around you.
Children trying to get your attention, shouting, crying, snotty noses, 'I feel sick'........ 'My mum said I can go home if I don't feel well'..........

Anyway, I now spend my days at my sewing machine with plenty of time to think, day dream and wander off in my own little world.
While in my own little world, I decided I needed more fabric to make some more of these.

I have made these before but I'm going to put these in my NOTHS shop. I want to fill my shop up with other things, things buzzing around in my head but I've been busy getting organised for the next NOTHS catalogue due out on Monday that I'm featuring in.

Along with the day dreaming I can often convince myself that I need to make a trip to the town for things I either don't need or things that can wait till another time.
Today I needed to go. Walking past the charity shop I spotted three cups and saucers, which became a nice prop for the brooches!

I hope you have a good weekend daydreaming!

On Wednesday and Thursday this week I looked after my nephew. We walked to a local pond and fed the ducks. It's been a long time since I did that......
